Nick Duerden, in an article in The Times, explores the work of families workshops in prison and the profound impact these can have on the men participating, men often alien to their families and unable to connect on the most basic level with their children.

Organisations such as Parentline Plus and Time for Families are working in the UK to assist men in reconnecting with their families and establishing the bonds and responsibilities which could be so effective in turning their lives away from crime.
