Catch 22: Crime Prevention

6th September 2010

Catch-22 is a British charity that works with vulnerable young people, providing assistance to those young people who need help.

In 2008, in response to a Home Affairs Select Committee discussion of crime prevention, Catch-22 produced a detailed document of its submissions in relation to the prevention of youth offending, reducing youth reoffending and the importance of partnership with the voluntary sector in this area.

Catch-22 write that while prevention and early intervention measures now have a considerable weight of evidence behind them, the youth justice system remains mired somewhat in a custodial approach which is not producing the desired reduction in youth crime.
