RTÉ Nine News: IPS Annual Report shows increase in prison population

The Irish Prison Service Annual Report 2010 was published on the 25th of August. It reveals a continued upward trend in the prison population in Ireland. The report also indicated a worrying increase in the number of people being committed to prison for failure to pay a fine. IPRT's Executive Director Liam Herrick appeared on RTÉ Nine News to discuss these and other issues stemming from the report.
