Q102 radio interview with IPRT Liam Herrick

9th August 2012

Liam Herrick was interviewed for Q102 on 8th August 2012 following the publication of the Irish Prison Service Annual Report. Despite consensus on the wastefulness of imprisonment for non-payment of fines and related legislation introduced last year, there were still 7514 committals to prison in 2011. Liam discussed the impact of this increasing number on prison conditions, as well as the harsh reality of serving any amount of time in prison.
