IPRT Submission to the United Nations Special Rapporteur on Human Rights Defenders

IPRT made the below submission to the United Nations Special Rapporteur on the situation of human rights defenders, Margaret Sekaggya, in advance of her visit to Ireland from 19 to 23 November 2012

The submission focuses the Irish State’s promotion and protection of human rights in the prison context relating to overcrowding, cell conditions and sanitation, the complaint’s system for prisoners, the detention for minors imprisoned in Ireland and the situation of women prisoners.
