IPRT Interns

As a small organisation, we believe we punch well above our weight - and that is down to the assistance and support of a team of dedicated interns, who bring their skills and passion for social justice and penal reform to their work with IPRT. Quite simply, we couldn't do it without them.

Interns assist in the development of our research and policy, as well as assisting our communications and campaigns activities. Interns are very much a part of the IPRT team, and are never required to photocopy or make tea! (sometimes they offer :)

IPRT InternsAlthough not a requirement, most of our interns have hailed from either a law background or a social sciences background, or both. Quite a few have come from and indeed gone on to further study in the area of criminology. Indeed, their strong passion for the area led a number of former IPRT interns to found the Differential Association, a 'criminological book club' that meets once a month to cast a critical eye on related books, articles and publications: http://thedifferentialassociation.blogspot.ie/

Since we formalised the IPRT Internship Programme in June 2009, the following people have worked with us. Gluttons for punishment (pardon the pun), they keep offering to come back and help us out at events, while furthering the cause for progressive penal reform through social media networks. We think they are amazing.
