HIQA inspection of Oberstown child detention campus published

The latest inspection report by the Health Information and Quality Authority (HIQA) of the Oberstown child detention campus in north Dublin has been published today.

The report on the inspection, which was carried out in June 2013, found that a good standard of care was provided. However, the report raises concerns about some key areas including the use of 'single separation' and protection rooms, staffing issues, and gaps in the addressing of offending behaviour.
