IPRT Statement: Our commitment to full transparency and accountability

In light of recent revelations relating to the abuse of charitable funds and lack of governance in a high profile case currently in the media, IPRT would like to take this opportunity to state that we strive to apply the highest standards of governance in our work:

• Governance: IPRT has adopted and is fully compliant with the Governance Code - a Code of Practice for Good Governance of Community, Voluntary and Charitable Organisations in Ireland. For full details, see here.
• Fundraising Principles: As a charity that relies on the generosity of our members and donors, we are committed to working towards compliance with the requirements of the Statement of Guiding Principles for Fundraising.
• Reporting and Accounts: We publish our annual accounts and annual reports on our website, and our trustees are also named on our website. For full details on our funding and financial management, see here.
• Filing Returns: IPRT is registered with the Charities Regulatory Authority, and files regular returns to the Register of Lobbying.

IPRT works very hard to ensure that all the funds we raise are applied most effectively and efficiently to achieve our mission. With a staff of just three, supported by an unpaid volunteer board and dedicated interns, we punch well above our weight by using advocacy strategies as leverage for systematic, and therefore longer-lasting, change.
