In November 2005, the IPRT, the Irish Refugee Council and the Immigrant Council of Ireland released a joint research report on the use of immigration-related detention in Ireland. On March 9th the groups will be holding a private briefing session for TDs and Senators on the findings and recommendations of that report.
The briefing will be held in the Oireachtas, and will feature a presentation by Mark Kelly of Human Rights Consultants who prepared the report on behalf of the three organisations.
Respect for rights in the penal system with prison as a last resort.
