Irish Penal Reform Trust

Has having a criminal conviction affected you?

1st February 2019

IPRT, with the help of our supporters, has campaigned tirelessly for many years for people to be able to move on from their convictions after their punishment has been served and a period of time has passed. We welcomed the passing of the Criminal Justice (Spent Convictions and Certain Disclosures) Act 2016, but it was only a small step towards breaking the stigma and providing better opportunities for reintegration and rehabilitation.

new law has been proposed, which would give fairer and broader access to spent convictions. We now have the opportunity to continue our campaign to remove the barrier that having a conviction can pose for a greater number of people. As part of this work, we need the voices of our supporters.

If you have a criminal conviction, please take 3 minutes to complete our short survey and help us show the impact that having a convictions history can have.

All responses are completely anonymous.

THE SURVEY IS NOW CLOSED. Thank you to all who took part.

Our work is supported by
