Parliamentary Question: Prison Service Staff

11th March 2004

157. Mr. Naughten asked the Minister for Justice, Equality and Law Reform if he will give details of a chaplain's salary within the Irish Prison Service on certain dates (details supplied); and if he will make a statement on the matter. [8230/04]

Minister for Justice, Equality and Law Reform (Mr. McDowell):   I am informed by the Irish Prison Service that the detailed information requested by the Deputy is not readily available and will require a search of files dating back to the late 1960s. However, further inquiries are being made in the matter and I will forward as much information as becomes available to the Deputy as soon as the inquiries are completed.
