Press Conference by the Coalition Against Anti Social Behaviour Orders

Plans by the Fianna Fail/PD Government to introduce Anti Social Behaviour Orders have come under sharp criticism from a coalition of children's organisations, youth projects, community groups, barristers and human rights advocates. The Coalition Against ASBOs will be outlining its opposition to the Government's plan at a press conference on 4 May.  This press conference which will be held immediately following a biefing session for TDs being organised by the Coalition in Leinster House.

Speaking at the press conference will be

  • Matt Foot, a leading expert on Anti Social Behaviour Orders in the UK. Mr Foot is a criminal defence solicitor and the Coordinator of Asbo Concern in the UK.
  • Geoffrey Shannon, Irish Solicitor and Child Law Expert
  • Fr Peter McVerry

The press conference will take place on Wednesday, 4 May at 11am at Buswell's Hotel, Molesworth Street, Dublin.
