IPRT letter to the Sentencing Guidelines and Information Committee consultation on guidelines for crimes committed in the context of an intimate relationship

The Irish Penal Reform Trust (IPRT) submitted a letter to the Sentencing Guidelines and Information Committee on its recent consultation on the draft proposal for a sentencing guideline relating to crimes committed in the context of an intimate relationship.
In the letter, we included information on the following for consideration:
- Principles and Purposes of Sentencing
- The Sentencing Process
- Data Collation and Monitoring
- Potential Limitations on Rehabilitation
