The WHO has published an interim guidance document on preparedness, prevention and control of COVID-19 in prisons and other places of detention. The document aims to assist countries in developing plans in response to the international Covid-19 outbreak.

IPRT has been monitoring the recent extension in Scotland of the Presumption Against Short Sentences (or PASS) from sentences of less than three months to 12 months, and its impact on reducing the use of short sentences. The extended presumption came into effect on 4th July 2019.
