5. In 2022, there were 3,046 prisoners committed under sentence serving sentences of less than 12 months, an increase from 2,548 in 2021.

In 2020 there were 2,548 prisoners committed under sentence serving sentences of less than 12 months.

5. In 2020 there were 2,420 prisoners committed under sentence serving sentences of less than 12 months.

5. In 2019 there were 4,314 prisoners committed under sentence serving sentences of less than 12 months.

5. In 2018 there were 3,559 prisoners committed under sentence serving sentences of less than 12 months.

5. In 2017 there were 4,900 prisoners committed serving sentences of less than 12 months.

In 2016 there were 10,996 prisoners committed serving sentences of less than 12 months. This represented 90.4% of all committals to prison under sentence in 2016.
