Rehabilitated offenders should be able to move on with their lives - that includes jobs (thejournal.ie)

IPRT Executive Director Saoirse Brady writes about the barriers faced by people with convictions even long after their sentence is served.
“If as a society, we ultimately believe in the justice system, we need to acknowledge that the deprivation of someone’s liberty is the punishment for the offence they committed. This punishment should end when their sentence is served, and they should be actively supported to move on with their lives.”
With fairer access to jobs, housing and participation in the community, people can move forward and contribute fully to society.
